Cue the music…These are a few of my favourite things…
Not raindrops on roses or whiskers on kittens, but instead my cozy, selfcare must-haves you likely have lying around the house that I would never have given a second thought to in my 20’s or 30’s, but as 2020 winds down (thank God), I appreciate the little things :
- Scented Epsom salts. Under the $10 range of pure luxury and enjoyment (how often can you say that) are these lovely flakes of rejuvenation, sensory magic and post workout necessity.
- Faux Fur blanket. Everywhere. One on the couch, the bed, even the office for cozy comfort working from home feels. They make me feel like I’m wrapped up in a hug, they add texture to your interior design and cut down on electric bills.
- Coffee mugs. Not the sets I bring out for company (actually that’s usually just wine glasses), but the collectibles I’ve picked up on my travels or cute messages I find at my local Homestore. A gentle reminder of better times as I sip my Maxwell House and think of Paris.
- Kindle. My favourite hobby is reading. So, the Kindle, originally for the purpose of travelling is likely my favourite escape. I do prefer the feel of a book, but nothing better than reading at night or in the morning without turning on the lights. The epitome of self care is a good personal development book in the morning and a thriller at night.
- I’ll end with a work from home must. Joggers, yes, but make them Cashmere. I came across a ridiculously good sale a few years ago at Vineyard Vines one pair left a size too big, but the cost per wear! I’ll always wait for a sale to add to my collection, but now that most of us are WFH the softness, comfort, the pure unadulterated luxury is worth it. Trust.
Alcohol – it’s a given.
